human factor 08

design research / human centered design / documentation

ruth spitzer for university of syracuse (usa), art, design, and transmedia, department of design industrial and interaction design

there never were in the world two opinions alike, no more than two hairs or two grains; the most universal quality is diversity.” michel de montaigne

human factors are about creating a good fit between people, the things they do, the objects they use, and the environment they work in. human factors should be considered in the design of every product, system, or environment. failure to do so can lead to ineffective, inefficient, or even unsafe designs.

the objective was to expand awareness of others such that you are no longer designing just for yourself, to deepen research, observation, evaluation, and documentation skills.
